Early Pilot Results

In Fall 2024, we piloted an EXPLO Forensic Science class at Applewild, a small independent school in Fitchburg, MA. We provided curriculum and training for one teacher to run a trimester-long course with seventeen 7th graders. Feedback from administrators, teachers, and students was very positive. As Applewild scales its implementation in the 2025-2026 school year, we will continue to support them with summer professional learning, ongoing coaching, and site visits.

“From the week before the class began, they were excited, and I never saw their enthusiasm waver. There was always something new. It was always something interesting.”
—Applewild Associate Head of School

Teacher Experience

“In an EXPLO classroom, there’s lots and lots of discussions between teams and teammates.  It was a great time, and I enjoyed it as a teacher because I was kind of in the trenches, learning alongside the students.”
