Why Middle School
We know middle schoolers.
We’ve been helping middle schoolers find their spark since 1984. We understand that students this age are experimenting with who they want to be, so we help them explore the world of ideas, places, and themselves.
Our approach is designed specifically for this age because we know that early adolescents are:
Exploring identity and imagining possible futures
Ready for sophisticated role-taking and perspective-shifting
Hungry for work that feels consequential
Capable of sustaining extended, complex narratives
Narrative-Based Project Learning
To meet the unique needs of this consequential age, we focus on experiential, narrative-driven learning that engages students in the actual work of a profession. We want young people to imagine, understand, and feel what it might be like to be a scientist, journalist, physician, engineer, diplomat, entrepreneur, or artist. Our curricular design, immersive classroom setup, and innovative teaching is all designed to engage students in exploration and self-discovery.
